I am waiting on a decision from s/s on my disability  decision, however my ? is; can I go to school p/t while I am waiting, or should I wait till I have my law judge approval?  the reason  I ask this  life  is getting very boring  after 19 months of reading, movies, and computer, I feel like my life  and brain is wasting away while I wait. I was a hairstylist for 25 yrs and hand alot of neck, shoulder, and both hands damage, not really sure what career path to take? any suggestions.

Hi,

I'm not sure there's a clear cut answer here. When will the ruling take place for your SS benefit? How will that impact your career choices? Is there any downside to going back to school and a) gaining greater knowledge that could lead to a new job or career? and b) providing some much needed mental stimulation?

Since you're not sure what career path you want to take do you know what you want to study in school? I think a good starting point is to read through Finding the Work You Love. Take some of the quizzes and do some of the worksheets. Also, consider some career counseling, if you can afford it. There are also some lower cost options and resources that I mention in the book.

Good luck,

Sam

Since you have been a hairstylist for 25 years, I think you should become an Avon representative. This is a based home business and you only invest $20 to join. You will get you own web site and you will have plenty to occupy your time. Being a hairstylist you should know a lot of people especially female.
