i'm wondering if you all might have suggestions of where to take folks when they don't know dc and you want to give them a private tour.

here's my list and depending on their health, preferences and how much time, these can be part of my grand tour de jane:

national arboretum, particularly the conifers and the view of the anacostia from the cliffs there

national catheral

some of the amazing homes of Cleveland Park

the vietnam vet memorial and then the lincoln memorial

smithsonian: museum of their choice

my neighborhood: the brookland/edgewood area, especially the round house on 10th street ne around jackson street, the franciscan monastery, and the victorian on 14th below Monroe with the sculpture in the trees.

montrose park in georgetown

maybe the exorcist steps in georgetown

the big chair in anacostia

capital hill

where do you take folks?

Don't forget the Spy Museum!  And the Newseum, too.  Both are very different kinds of museums and are very memorable.
