About Me

OK. I'm gradually grasping the system. I am a retired Rn who lives in the Pacific NW and loves it. We live on Puget Sound, on a low bluff, and walk the beach most of the year, except when the tide is too high. We are on the shipping lanes to Seattle and Tacoma ports and love to see all the container ships, cruise ships, naval ships and subs, and tugs go by. There is aleays something to see. If not ships, birds, sea lions, occassionally whales, fishing boats etc. We retired here from Bellevue, WA. home of microsoft. We longed for peace and quiet and found it. We are parents to 4, grandparents to 6, and foster parents to a westy, a cairn and a cat. Love my pets. I love to read, travel, walk, knit, quilt, cook for family, help little ones learn to read and othe community activities. I've been retired for 5 yra. but my husbandhas not made the jump yet. We are looking at Dec. as the beginning of his reirement. Bad timing if you go by todays economic picture, but you have to make ther jump sometimes.

Interests:
Watch football, baseball Like to go to the gym, for exercise. Read, knit, quilt, grandkids, walk, my dogs. Travel. We have done several river cruises in Europe, Russia, France. Love to travel that easy way. We have alarge property which will forever be in progress, as to landscaing. I like the rough parts best though-the woods, fields and beach

When I found this recipe, I had to join this group. I live in a home with at least an acre of blackberries, behind me. They grow rampant and every year I have to hire a brush cutter to come and cut back some of them at an attempt at control. However, August and early September bring us all the blackberries we could ever use, and we love them dearly. I get tired of making pies, so this recipe will help me out, come next august. It sounds delicious. I can't wait to try it out. Like many another member of this group, my opportunities for cooking are coming with the peak eating season of he year. I am sure going to the gym, will follow in a timely manner.I just made a batch of peanut butter cookies, this afternoon. My favorite, and the smell fills the house with the promise of something good.Lois
