About Me

I am 58, living my days with as much happiness as I can find! I have a special little buddy, Renji. He's a daschund mix and is such a kick in the pants! Renji makes me happy and makes me laugh a lot, he has that puppy mentality! I am so thankful to have him.

Interests:
My interests a re jewelry making, mostly beading, knitting, crocheting, and shopping, shopping, and more shopping! I advocate for the homeless in Seattle and 700.org against domestic violence. I root for those of us who depend on our Social Security and Medicare to survive. I've survived domestic violence, alcoholism, a heart attack, heart surgery, deep depression with lots of therapy, renewing my faith, medical professionals and compassion from others. Some guidance and a kind word of faith goes a long way!

I am 58 years young and I have to depend on my Social Security Disability @ this point in my life. My greatest fear was realized, and being faced with homelessness and sleeping in a shelter was a blessing compared to sleeping on the street in it's cold darkness! I am thankful for this journey to low income housing, a single room I call home. It's like a mansion to me. My meager income is one that I've earned by working since I was 14 years old. I grew up with the needed examples for honest self survival and hard work.
I have seen and still see too many that learn early on how to "work" the system to their advantage though they are perfectly capable of working for an income and benefits. A woman whose able to give birth can work to take care of her children. Our tax money and Social security should not be used to support those capable of supporting their own. In retrospect of all of it I say there are those who honestly are less fortunate both physically and mentally so we should see to their well being.
I can't tag our Nation's deficit problems to one party or the other but to a realization that there is some "house cleaning" desperately needed and priorities as well as investigative steps must be put into place to accomplish this.
Frivilous, unnecessary, uncontrolled, and extreme spending especially to bail out major corporations, who by all concerns shouldn't be in a mess in the first place,is another major problem that should be addressed!
We as a Nation are too blindsided and overcome with the "hand out" instead of "hand up". Teach them to fish, don't just hand them a filet on a silver platter! The time has come to balance the checkbook!
It's time to pay attention to whose getting all the money!
My Social Security should not be used for others who haven't bothered to make their own. I should be allowed to chooose who gets help from my money!
God Bless America, One Nation under God!
My name is Janice Hill, I am an American!
