About Me

I am a 62 retired NYC school teacher. I only just retired last August and I'm still trying to build a "retirement' life for myself. One that includes lots of friends and activities.

Interests:

Im very interested in music, especially Jazz. Im presently taking a class in The History of Jazz and Im thoroughly enjoying it. Im looking forward to taking piano lessons soon and hope to be able to do some traveling. I plan to look into volunteering because from everything I hear volunteering helps the giver even more than the receiver.

Wanting fitness

Am new to AARP groups, but am sooo wanting to lose over 100 pounds. Am a great beginner but always lose focus. Am a relatively attractive retiree who would do very well socially IF ONLY I could take this weight off. Anyone out there who can offer help, I would be sooooo grateful This is the BIGGEST challenge in my life. HELP!

As you may know, we're in the process of gathering individuals to form teams as part of the preparation for the introduction of the AARP Fat to Fit Community Challenge, scheduled to begin late July or early August. But whenever it begins (schedules sometimes slip), I hope you'll join and even be captain of a team.
