IWO JIMA FLAG RAISING.jpg
OLD GLORY
TANDJRAY says:

I love this picture. My Dad was there, on a ship, at this time. He never wanted to talk about what happened in the war until the last 3 or 4 years of his life. He had a stroke, and subsequently had "flashbacks" and wanted to tell things that happened. But because of his stroke, he was unable to say the words he wanted to. He spoke quite plainly, but the words he said were not the ones he wanted to say. Upsetting to him, because he knew what he wanted to say.

Altho he is not in this picture my uncle,Peter B Cranney was at Iwo Jima when the flag was raised. God Blesses America with all the great guys and gals serving our country.
I, too, have been widowed, 2 1/2 years now. Lonesome life without my partner but kids and grandkids always trying to fill the void.
Blessings to you!
