The complicated ones always come with "strings"--but the almost worshipful love of an innocent child, the genuine joy of a beloved furball when you honor him with your presence and attention, the touch of a friend's hand upon your shoulder when you need comforting, a fiery sunset, a beautiful rose, a bright blue sky against fall's palette of red and purple and yellow and orange leaves . . . and the health and well-being to enjoy them . . . in the end, these are the things that matter.
