Interests:
I have been a volunteer for over 50 years, currently involved in Therapy Work with my male standard poodle. We work at Hospitals, Hospice and Nursing homes, but very involved in Hospital work with him.My previous work was doing work for half sighted children, run by The National Council of Jewish Women, under the leadership of my sister in law I reproduced school text books in large size so they would have a book for each subject they were studying to keep up with their classmates. I was almost undone one year by a Physics book to enlarge. I have always worked and trained dogs, my love for animals has been very rewarding, especially now with Cassidy. He has earned a new award this year from Therapy Dogs International, TDIAOV, means we have worked many, many hours- almost 900 in my book. It is very heart warming work that we do, he has a most wonderful way of communicating to all types of illness, children or adults, he just seem to know what to do. We love our job, I plan to continue as long as he and I are able, I am much older, he is 6, well , lets just say I am in my 70"s- Recent widow, wonderful 50 year marriage.I feel very happy to be a Volunteer.My Photos (4)
