About Me

My interests are many and my plate is always overflowing. Weaving and fiber arts with natural fibers is at the top of my list, and is also my business. I've been involved with fiber and textiles for years-for me weaving and design are both challenging and rewarding. At present, I have an Etsy.com shop selling alpaca yarn and some of my handknits. I will launch a website next year for my handwovens, but at present my work is mostly contracted. I live in a college town where there are many opportunities for social and cultural activities. I've just volunteered at a community arts group that features the work of local artisans and they do an outstanding job of promoting great talent here. I also find time to read - mostly non-fiction and biography and someday may even write a book! I love walks on sunny days with my funny dog, Suzy. Enjoying friends and granddaughters is a great pleasure too. I am fortunate to live close to family again after several years of living far away and it is wonderful. I had the pleasure of traveling all over the US and to Canada, Mexico and England. One of my best friends lives in England and what a treat to visit her country place there and to have her visit here as well. She and I met when she came to a course about alpaca husbandry at my farm in the SW--we've been friends ever since. I raised and bred alpacas in Kansas until end of 07 and enjoyed a successful biz for over 10 years. I continue to work with alpaca and other fine fibers in weaving and handknits for my business.
