Please meet Christy Farr. www.christydianefarr.com She is a Life Coach, Mentor, all around talented and extraordinary woman. This is my chronicle of the wonderful unfolding of potential, awe, and inspiration through the coaching process with her.
For our third trip down coaching lane together, Christy and I discussed some previous events, like my blog in which I share my initial experience with on-line dating, and what my feelings are about my writing – before, during and after. Writing always brings me joy. Writing excites me. Christy can relate, being a writer herself. Christy shares experiences of her own as well as others (without names of course) when they inspire and are pertinent to what we are doing. Knowing my ongoing quest NOT to be relegated to working in the corporate world, business world, or as Christy put it, cubicle land, she shared the revelation of another client who indicated that through this process of coaching and sharing and realizing, she was able to come to the decision that she would NOT, under any circumstances go back. Back to where she once was and where she felt the tides rush upon her on a daily basis, eroding her health and spirit. I am still working on getting to the point where I can actually say I Won’t! I am at the point of, I really don’t want to, and will do what it takes to avoid it. I am still entangled in What If? So, this is a work in progress. But I love the thought, the mere idea that all it takes is that Will, Dedication, and Trust in Oneself to make it reality. And I do believe we all have the capacity and responsibility to rise through challenges and to create a life we truly love to be in.
Christy always always inspires me. I love that she is there for me; she listens, she offers great suggestions and ways to move forward. Today, she offers that an outlet for my writing might be with women’s magazines; starting small, of course. We discuss the fact that some of these may be looking for writing content of various kinds, likely around the realm of what I write about and am experiencing now~ offering help to women going through certain points in life. So point one is to scope out such periodicals and find those which are looking for writing offerings. Christy also educated me about Pitch Rate, an on-line venue which matches requests for writing services with those who write. I have checked out this site, and am in the process of composing my bio. This will be a great way to begin to get my articles out on a more widely-read scope while gaining experience writing for others.
Christy also suggested I buy my name domain. Which I did. Everyone who has an on-line presence in any type of business should purchase and publish under their name domain. So, although it is not yet ready for prime time, I am the owner of bonnie-lord.com. This site is intended to be my business site for writing and virtual assistant services. As Christy pointed out, it is important that I promote myself as a writer – always and every day.
I would not be aware of any of these points without Christy’s guidance. She adds a wonderful flow to my week, to my life, as we meander through whatever is going on. She is an expert at asking the right questions. She has a unique intuition. I look forward to day four and onward with her.
