My background has been in education---over 40 yrs in 4 different school districts. I taught French, English, special education, driver's education, coached, counseled and administered. Through those years, I thought I was teaching subject matter and modeling intelligent behavior, but now I am in awe of what my students have taught me!
My career legacy includes three outstanding programs: 1) PEER MEDIATION for both staff and students, 2) RESTORATIVE JUSTICE, which creates an environment where victims concerns are addressed and the offender may "restore" peace and harmony as it existed before the offense, and 3) started a KNOWLEDGE BOWL competition similar to the College Bowl which expanded to become a successful state competition.
Interests:
My passions in life right now: 1) Live a heathy, productive, spiritual existence, 2) Create and maintain strong, positive relationships with my wife, Rosie, family, friends, neighbors and others in the many "communities" in which I am involved, 3) Respect our planet Earth and use resources wisely, 4) Work to promote a just, sustainable economy with jobs 5) Do everything I can to insure America's blessings for my grandchildren and for all in the coming generations. "THE INTERESTS OF CHILDHOOD AND YOUTH ARE THE INTERESTS OF MANKIND"---Edmond James. My high school prophecy was that "Bob would be tending to his 'Rose' garden." I am still married to that Rose, and we try to spend every minute together---reading, gardening, biking, parenting, and grandparenting. We love to cook and grill throughout the year, even in Minnesota! Our bike rides are usually 20 miles long and include stops at coffee shops, patio restaurants and local craft brew pubs. Rosie and I have been blessed with many long time couple friends, some even attended our wedding 40yrs. ago.My Photos (9)
