I live in a rural area and one of the ladies who lives out here gives sheep herding lessons....after an aptitude test on guess what...geese!).
Zeke is almost four.

I have one, too. His name is Zeke. He has a kind of zig-zag blaze. I was thinking of naming him Harry (for Harry Potter), but it just didn't fit. He likes me to call him "Zeeker". Make him wag his tail more.
Do you do agility? I'm hoping to try it out. Also, have the opportunity to try him with sheep. See my pix at my profile.
I also have a BC/lab or flat coated retriever mix. Who is realllllllllly smart.
Zeke is no dummy either. Zeke's only bad habit is shredding any newspaper he finds on the floor. He HATES having dog hair in his mouth. Only dog I have that is particular like that.
Zeke also likes to retrieve. Loves to get squirted with the hose (bites at it), but isn't interested in the wading pool. I've got to take him to the beach one of these days.
Excellent watch dog. Loves having something to bark at!!

Yes, I love border collies. Zeke sound really nice and I even thought about Harry Potter for Willy B he had kind of a z on his neck or someplace when he was young. It isn't so noticeable now.
I lost two of my bc last year to old age (14 and 15) they died eight days apart and I was crushed. Willy B was really happy when I brought home the puppy. I didn't know if he would like it or not.
Zeke would probably love agility, most dogs do. However, sheep is the ultimate. My new puppy shreds everything he finds.....
