Kobi has the tendency to be aggressive with other dogs also. I think it's because he is the only dog in the family. Kinda like an only child. The hyperness will get better with age. We can hardily get Kobi to fetch any more...he'd just as soon lay around and be a dog rug!! We had another Golden that wanted to play fisbee or fetch continueosly. Wore us completely out sometimes. Unfortunatly she was hit and killed by a federal express truck when she was 4 years old. Broke our hearts!!

I plan on having back surgery myself soon. I have scoliosis with a 45 degree curve and disc degeneration. I will have two steel rods inserted from S1 to T12 and I'm not looking forward to it!! Actually I keep putting it off. How did you do with your surgery

My Back Surgery was no where near as complicated as yours but I can say that the work that was doen has held up and I have been pain and problem free for over 3 years now. The thing is that you must trust your surgeon if not find one that you do. That may be difficult but I trusted mine and had a bunch of faith in him Good luck I wish our Golden would get over his hyperactive stage soon he is a ton of love but here as of late he has become agressive towards other dogs not in the family I am sure with age he will get over that
