Quote: Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the tradewinds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. ~ Mark Twain

It was beautiful. It's been a long time since something teared me up like that....last time was a "oldies" concert where Gary Puckett sang "Home". There's a version on You Tube but as great as his voice is the graphics don't do it justice, listen with your eyes closed. I'll just give you the lyrics (they are truly timeless) and maybe you can do something better
And every night they lie awake And dream of mama's chocolate cake And wonder if they'll be a tomorrow And will they ever see their home and their family Or will they ever be back home
And boys who never learned to pray Look to the heavens everyday And stumble through a simple little prayer And ask the Lord above To send them home to the one's they love Oh god I hope they make it home
And every day some young man dies And in the night some young girl cries He'll never hear his baby's laughter He'll never ever see his home and his family Or what he's done for you and me But I guess he's on his way back home
I have a young dear friend in Afghanistan and he wont be home to his young wife and baby til Nov 2nd. This video really tugged at my heart and its hard for me to type this because of the tears. I gave him a badge when he left and he wears it every day. It is two flags crossed over each other. Its the American flag and the Australian flag and the signifigance is he is American and I am Australian. He has told me it creates a lot of conversation as Australians have been allies of America longer than any other country! I dont know that for a fact but its what I was told. Thank you for sharing.
Love J
Dear William Henry, This has no words. It is all I can do to see the screen with the tears in my eyes. Thank you for sharing and caring. I am from a military family. Our family has served in all but 2 wars. I know what they are going through. I don't know how some can not support our troops. Thanks, Bill, if I may call you that. I am so honored you are my friend. My heart, thoughts and prayers to all who serve and their families. Special prayers to all those who have lost and their families who have to go on without that person in their lives. Thank you again and I will pass it on. Love....RaeDi
