About Me

A Middle American with a viewpoint to match. I have some background in Psychology, enough so that I've avoided being assassinated thus far, but my true passion is technology.

Interests:
I have a great love of golf but haven't played in over two years (shame on me). I also love music. I play guitar and keyboards and love harmonizing. And, like my father before me, I'm obsessed with repairing other folks' electronics (mostly computers).

There’s a very ugly sniping contest going on in a forum called, of all things, "Community Help".  It’s ugly enough that, after browsing the forum to see if my limited knowledge might be of use to others, I chose not to join the group and instead will continue planting my seeds of experience here, where I don’t have to tolerate any nastiness.

The subject of all the vehemence in Community Help centers around someone who had suggested that autoplay music in profiles might be annoying to those who browse those profiles.  I refuse to get involved in the silliness going on there, but for those who are interested in changing their profile music to an "on demand" setting, here’s the solution:

There is a line of HTML code in your music tag that reads (in brackets),

param name="autoplay" value="true" /

By changing the value from "true" to "false" the music only starts when the visitor clicks play.
