I've travelled half way around the world and back, including a ride in the **** pit of a 747. That is a story for another day. I first ventured out alone at the tender age of 18. My parents were horrified and afraid for my saftey. But, at that age one is immortal so I grabbed my blue luggage (which had been altered to resemble a union jack) and flew to London. Now that I am older, I understand my parents my trepidation. I too would have been very concerned if one of my step-daughters had made the same proclamation to me. I will never tire of travelling and I wish I had the money to go to all of the places I hold so dear. For now, all of the wonders and excitment of solo travel will be only a dream until I plant my feet on the terra firma I long to see. Perhaps next time I will travel in tandum. Nothing is as sweet as sharing a passsion with a like minded person.
