About Me

I am a married lady living in Bellevue, WA, just across Lk. Washington From Seattle, WA. My husband and I have been married for 47 years. I am a retired English teacher though I worked in the business sector as well as in education. We have 3 grown children - the youngest is 32; the older two are 41 and 42 - no one is married and no grandchildren. I am a Progressive Activist and worked very hard in the Obama campaign. I continue to volunteer in local political organizations. We have lived in the same home for over 30 years - and we maintain a half acre lot - though it is not manicured and a little ragged around the edges. I love my potted flowers and plants and we both enjoy many huge trees on our lot - cedars and other evergreens and huge old maples. We also have done a lot of traveling in the past 10 years - around the U. S. and to Europe several times

Interests:
Am a fan of my local MLB team - Seattle Mariners. Enjoy sewing and quilting. I'm a too-good cook and fan of world cuisines

Good morning, I just realized that you never received this, so I'm re-sending it:

I'm glad you enjoyed my slideshow on AARP. I'll give you a brief summary of our trip to answer your questions (it'll be hard since I could talk for hours about it).

This web site below shows a good example of our trip, but ours did not go to Samburu, and we stayed an extra day in Nairobi to see Karen Blixen's house and giraffe sanctuary and also the baby elephant orphanage. These two stops in Nariobi are a must see opportunity. By paying more than a budget trip, the accomodations were exceptional! All of these safaris are photographic only, no hunting is ever allowed in these big game parks. The driving between game parks is a bit wearing because of going cross country in range rovers, but there is no hiking or other strenuous activities. Certain disabilities would be impossible, since there are no facilities for wheelchairs or walkers. Age didn't seem to be a factor, me made some good friends on the trip that were in their erly 70's. Even in my health, taking a break from chemotherapy, I did not have any physical difficulties. Spending two weeks in this assortment of game parks shows a wide variety of animals, scenery and lodging experiences. We chose to spend more for a first class experience and it was well worth it. We saw every kind of animal you can imagine, got up close and personal with them all, and saw the great migration of the wildebeasts and zebras making their famous crossing of the Mara River. We also visited the local Masai villages, for an interesting view into their lifestyles. This had been our favorite adventure until we went to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands. I hope this answers yur questions, if you have any more, feel free to ask.

Jeff
