I'm wearing my original colorful "Jacob's Coat of Many colors". It began when I took a class for creating a crazy-quilt block seen in center of back. I thought it too pretty to religate to the scrap bag or just a pillow top, so started with idea of a vest which just kept expanding. I'd research different quilting techniques or methods or ideas, stitch a bit, add a bit, lay it all out on the living room floor until the next inspiration hit me. It took about eight months to complete the jacket and line it.
So glad you found the photo and like the jacket. I still do, even after wearing it these past couple of years - it still makes me smile. What fun it was to create it, but sure cluttered up my living room for about six or seven months. I'd do a small section and lay it out on the floor until a new inspiration would hit me of how to design the next section using another or a new quilting techinique. Starting with just a 12" crazy-quilt block for the center of the back, it eventually blossomed into the the finished product. Hopefully it may inspire others to branch out and try new things
