Jim and I spent 4 weeks volunteering with the USDA Forest Service in the Black Hills National Forest. Over the course of two summers we worked on this hundred year old cabin near Deerfield, SD
This is really a nice moment of escape to the Cabin. I was thinking about the book, "The Shack" and hadn't realized the meaning of the transformation of the shack into that comfortable and beautiful cabin. It was the presence of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit that did it. It was such a great way to suggest how their presence in our heart transforms a shack into a wonderful dwelling place for the Lord. I had a dream once that after I let Jesus into my heart he redecorated everything in pink of all shades. It still isn't my color of choice but it was so beautiful once he was done. It's wise to always let him have his way! As always, I await the day we can meet at the Cabin!
I just 'love how you did this video! Actually, Patricia, all your vids are a masterpiece. You sure know how to put a story together in a video. It's that *third-eye thing. I think God distributes it to certain individuals who are talented like you!
I loved the song, the pictures *time-stamped as it progressed with the music. Nice effect in the end. How lovely living out there..... sort of reminds me of Hawaii in the *olden days when everything was untouched by concrete.....
God bless you for sharing...looking forward to more. Since I'm home, I've been dreamin' of a video to put together of my children. Will post that later once it's done.
Patti you always take me away with your videos and music, which is a very good thing! Thank you! Have a great get away, we will be thinking of you and hubby! Enjoy your mama and dad, time is fleeting... In the spirit of rolling hills and Simon and Garfunkel, Sijai
Very cool indeed. To be honest, I had to replay it because I was busy singing along, lost in another time... I learned and sang that background verse in 8th grade choir (second soprano). Most people overlook the canticle, but it's just so incredibly beautiful.
Oh and the video, the pictures, the entire project itself were great too! :-)
If only those old walls could talk? Wouldn't you like to know the history of th cabin---or do you?? What a beautiful setting! The music, although a different genre, reminded me that it is Woodstock's anniversary. Have been seeing it all over TV. I always preferred the soft folksy music, rather than the rock music
Wow, Patricia. This video is awesome. You are really getting good at this. One thing I've learned being in the writing/publishing business for some 30 odd years is that people who write unflinchingly from the heart have the capacity to move us, where more polished craftsmen often fall short. This is so very true of not only your journals but also your videos. Thanks you for capturing these endearing memories as well as sharing them.
