Hi!! I am lucky enough to have a 3 day weekend. How about you? Can you enjoy your long weekend as well? Doing anything special? We are having a cookout and a pool party. It will be lots of fun. It won't be our last hurrah though. We still have plenty warm weather ahead of us. I usually stop using my pool by the end of October. It gets a bit too cold for me by then.

Keep safe and enjoy...

I love this entry, this is another thing we seem to have in common. My favorite time of the year is autumn and I have not done the tour but I have spent many days in that cemetery and many others. The one in Grand Lake has a tour, I've enjoyed that one. Many things about an area can be gleened from its cemetery.
Your memories are so comfortable for me, Thank You

I've been meaning to reference your quote: "The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast us." William James...

It was James that drew me to my studies in graduate school at VA TECH... As a Writer, a Psychologists, a Mystic... in 1974, he became a profound influence on this young "Tenderfoot"!

Thanks for the comment on my family picture, I had to resize it and we all look too wide, we are a little wide, but not that wide! Yes, those were such happy times, before all the teen age rebellions and grief happened.

That is interesting about the Welsh singers in your journal, we have Welsh singers near here, but they only do that around Christmas. Hope your holiday weekend is fun! Smiles to a dear friend, Pat

You're welcome! We were all very impressed with the Sanctuary and their mission. They show such great compassion for those beautiful creatures and what they have been through. We especially liked the catwalks and high observation platforms that are designed to let folks see the animals but not disturb them in any way. Amazing place!

Hi Patricia...
I just took a gander at your photo's from the Wildlife Sanctuary. It sounds like a great opportunity for the kids. We have a wild bird habitat/sanctuary about an hour from us. I think my daughter's kids are old enough to appreciate it now, so I'll make plans for a visit next spring (during migratory flights).
We just received word that grandkid #5 (a girl) will come into this world on 9/19 (c-section) so I'm kind of excited. I'll have to change my profile page.
Have a happy Labor Day Weekend. We're on our way back "up north" until Monday.

I stopped by at your place a few days ago and was wondering when that baby was due. How exciting for all of you! You're probably already out there enjoying the lake but I hope your Labor Day weekend is just perfect!
