My Mom inherited this piano when her parents moved into a house and the former owners didn't want to move it. My Dad moved it into our basement and I have great memories of laundry day when my Mom would go down to throw in another load and then would stop and play several songs before she came upstairs again. It's a heavy beast so when Mom gave it to my daughters Jim got creative with ramps, ropes and pulleys and managed to hoist it out of their basement. This was just before Jim and my Dad rolled it next door and lowered it gently into our basement. My Mom walked along with them and played us a tune! Did I tell you that our neighbors think we're pretty funny? Wonder why?
This brought back a great childhood memory I have of my dad moving a piano from a friend of my fathers to our house. I will have to see if I can find the photos of this event. We had a parade moving the piano with a group of barbershop men singing and one actually playing the piano as we moved it to our house. It looked very much like this but I never learned how to play :(
