Great theory! I feel along the same line about helping others. I have so many senior friends who can't afford to pay their bills and are getting to where they can't take care of themselves, either. By banding together, we help each other. When I get to their age, I hope my younger friends will remember me, too. I've been looking for land in the South, hoping to put windmills and solar panels up so that there are no utility costs for all of us, and then putting a big garden and pond in -- so that, no matter what happens, we can care for ourselves. Maybe just a dream, but a goal ahead for me. Around the lake/pond could be cabins for guests or those who just need a place to stay. Wouldn't that be fun? Still looking for just the right place while I sell my Atlanta home, but so looking forward to doing it! Love your spirit for taking care of others and having a friendship with others, which is far more valuable than a marriage! Good luck to you!

Ron, you are so very welcome! And thank you for adding me as one of your friends. I know you will have a great time at Mt. Mingus this coming weekend. I am going to Ruidoso, NM for some quiet time at Lake Bonita in the Rocky Mountains......last day of school was this past Friday, so my summer vacation time has begun. Have fun and take care!

Just stopped by out of curiosity--your screen name. You've posted some Wonderful pictures....and shown proof that a good kilt will take you anywhere!! (g)
(my late husband was a Scott...) The pictures of the horses and wildlife were beautiful.
Your thoughts on shared senior housing are intersting....worth taking a serious look at. After having taken care of my own parents--I think my dd is dreading the thought of MY growing older, and living alone. Would deffinitely take a harmonious mix tho...hmmmm.
Welcome to the neighborhood....
