You mentioned that The Woodlands keeps growing, and it does at a much faster rate than we expected it to thirty years ago. In the mid 1970s I was on the board of directors for The Woodlands, and I remember the plans that George Mitchell and Rob Lapp had for certain phases of its development. It has far exceeded anything we expected during that time.

Thank you for mentioning jigzone.com. I was not aware of it, but since I read about it in your e-mail I have worked four of its puzzles. I agree that it is better than the AARP puzzles, mainly because you can separate the pieces and see each all of them at one time.

I hope you enjoyed hiking and rock climbing in Arizona. At the right time of year it can be a very enjoyable place to hike or backpack.I have not hiked there since three years ago, but I have fond memories of many places there. My son and I spend most of our hiking/backpacking days in Europe, and I have hiked or backpacked in almost every European country for a total of over 6,000 miles.

Now that the weather is getting cooler I hope that you will be able to enjoy the trails in The Woodlands. I still miss them

Take care.

I just noticed in your profile that you live in The Woodlands and that you used to live in Spring. I moved to Kerrville, Texas from The Woodlands in June 2003. Before moving to The Woodlands I lived in Spring for 30 years--in North Hills Estates next to Spring High School. Since you like to walk you are living in the perfect place. The Woodlands has the best trails of any subdivision I have ever seen. I used to walk the ones in my area almost every night when I lived there. You are also in a good place for going out to dinner and the movies. I used to eat at a different area restaurant at least once a week while I was there, go to the theater there about two times a month, and attend several performances in the Cynthia Woods Pavilion every year.
After being used to The Woodlands, moving to Kerrville was a gastronomic and cultural disaster. Kerrville does have its good points, but I must admit that I miss The Woodlands. I also miss the county library in The Woodlands. Our library here is much too small for a city of about 24,000 people and its stacks are lacking in many areas. Most of the books I borrow from there are from inter-library loan, and the borrower pays postage.

You mentioned that you like to work jigsaw puzzles. I assume you have discovered the ones on the AARP game site. I enjoy working them, but at times it gets frustrating since you cannot separate all the pieces on the bigger puzzles.

Thank you for putting your profile on this site. Reading it brought back many happy memories for me from before I moved to Kerrville

Yes, I love living in The Woodlands. It is a perfect location for everything. You have all the beautiful trees and not the city hustle and bustle but all the benefits of a city. The library is great and I love to read. I am never without a book. This area keep growing. I'm glad the 100 degree heat is gone so I can get back to walking outdoors. I work downtown Houston so by the time I got home is was still so hot. I was in Arizona last week and did lots of hiking and did come of the red rock climbing.

I do the jigsaw puzzles on AARP and also at jigzone.com. They have a sign up for a daily puzzle which I get. I like the puzzles from jigzone better than AARP.

Take care
