About Me

Until 2004, I lived on the far North Side of Chicago, Illinois, just South of Lincolnwood. I have two daughters; one lives in Chicago and the other in New York City. My eldest graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The other graduated from Fordham U. in New York. I live in Hatfield, Wisconsin, now - population 50. Quite a change from Chicago. Hey! No traffic problems. I'm an hour East of LaCrosse and an hour South of Eau Claire. My house is next to the woods and I have many visitors. The deer come to dine around 4:30 p.m. every day. The turkeys, chipmonks, squirrels, fish and birds come without a regular schedule. None of them are good tippers. When I arrived in Hatfield, I immediately went to work and finished writing my Orphan Train Trilogy; Wildflowers, Bridie's Daughter and Secrets. Check out Noonan'sNovels at http://orphantraintrilogyauthor.blogspot.com The vast majority of the U.S. population does NOT know about the orphan trains that moved homeless children from New York City to the West and Southwest to find new homes. Between 1854-1929 over 200,000 children were relocated this way. Some found loving homes; others did not. Good news: To date, all Book Reviews have rated my trilogy Five Stars, and recently, all three were among ten Finalists in the 2008 Indie Book Awards-Historical Fiction, an International Competition. Book descriptions and Book Reviews can be found under Robert Noonan at Amazon.com and Google, among others of same name. Last winter was bad and the thought of going south in winter is sounding better all the time. You know, a Snowbird or Sandfly. The thought of swimming and outdoor tennis instead of shoveling snow has become appealing. I've had excellent health all my life, but who knows what tomorrow brings

Interests:
As for sports, I love playing tennis. Also, swimming, fishing and snorkeling. The only sports I watch are tennis and the Chicago Bears football. My hobbies and Volunteer work are promoting my novels. I am not a celebrity and I don't have connections, therefore, it's the ugly part of having written books

Due to Popular Demand Robert Noonan’s Orphan Train Trilogy will have a Sequel

Robert Noonan, author of the Five Star Orphan Train Trilogy; Wildflowers , Bridie’s Daughter and Secrets  has started writing a sequel. Followers of this popular trilogy have been requesting a continuation since the trilogy became available. The first three books shares the lives of orphans living during the 1800's when child welfare activities were in their infancy. Readers have taken the "orphan" characters into their hearts and want to read more about their lives.

Mr. Noonan is well into chapter two of Paper Flowers. To those familiar with this trilogy, that meaningful title will immediately bring readers back into the trilogy. Hillary, who was a continuing primary character in all three books, may have her own personal secret shared.

Readers are encouraged to read the Trilogy in the near future! While you will often see Robert online at Authors Den, and other social sites, talking about his published novels, he's also enjoying getting back to writing and in sharing Hillary's story!

Howdy,

The vacation was interesting. Been there, done that, no need to go back. On the morning of the fourth day, in Shanghai, I was hit from behind by a moped. It sent me flying and I landed on my right shoulder and hip. Trying to dress and shower the remaining 18 days of the trip was a joke. No more tennis this year.

I took lots of pictures with my new digital camera, but havem't looked at them, yet. I'm not a picture person. I will put them on my profile when I find time and learn how. Many pictures of children. They are a hoot. We flew 5 times inside of China to see all the major sites. Also, a 5 day cruise on the Yangtze River.

I'm on page 108 of "Paper Flowers."

Have a great weekend.
