I too am looking forward to this historic AARP Convention here in DC since we will have, for the first time, a serious GLBT presence. As the President of the DC Chapter of Prime Timers, I would like to invite anyone coming to town who will be here on Wednesday evening the 3rd to join our club for its weekly happy hour and/or dinner at 6:30pm upstairs at Dupont Italian Kitchen at 17th & R NW..we usually have about 20 or so members who show..we are a very friendly bunch in our 40's to 90s!
I don't find the site (AARP) easy to navigate when it comes to becoming a group member or contacting group members. Having said that: I just joined your group after finding it on the AARP site. I will be at the convention in DC and would like to connect with other GLBT while there. This is my 1st AARP convention and other than the Thursday night concert, have no plans and don't quite know what to expect. Hope your group can manage a meet 'n greet while I'm in town.
Gay (presently married) somewhat involved in the glbt senior community in Boston. I am responding on a whim, looking for friendly guy(s) to talk to. I am going through a rough patch and maybe won't feel I am all by myself in the changes in my life. Who knows?
Guy I wished you were closer to my city, Greenville South Carolina. We could use some one to chair some activites for the Gay and Lesbian people around here. We are in the Bible Belt of the South and that belt buckle is covering peoples faces enough that they think we do not exist.
