Ok, it's 8:34 on a Wednesday night and I'm starting this journey on this journal. Yep, I intended to say that. There are journals in several places in my home because one never knows when one will get the urge to put it all on paper. There are also books and magazines in every room. Magazines have pages dog-eared and columns marked because I'm sure the author needs to hear my comments on his/her thoughts. There are books of every genre with the belief being that variety is the spice of life, especially in the written arena. I have often found the book I laid on the bedside table and finally got around to reading was one I wish I had read first.
I have a folder in the file cabinet full of comic strips I have saved because I believe laughter IS the best medicine. One of my fondest memories growing up in Virginia was that every night my mother would share the newspaper w/me by reading the comics to me. Yes, I am distressed that many newspapers are closing their door. And yes, I know, read it online - I do, but it's not the same. It's just not.
I am the proud mother of two adult children, a son and a daughter. Both live several states away. I am the proud owner of two Scottish Terriers who wait by the door for me to come home each day. I have great neighbors, work with great people, and am blessed to say that I still enjoy my job. I have traveled, although not nearly enough - is it ever enough?
So hello to all of you. I look forward to meeting you and being a friend if you wish.
I still follow my mother's advice: When visiting w/friends, do not discuss religion or politics.
And the NYStars3? You figure it out. Another of my blessings.
Until next time . . . . Peace.
