Mike, Sounds as if you are quite a remarkable person. Certainly our world has been ever changing. I, like you, saw the assination of JFK, King, and Robert Kennedy. I observed as Challenger errupted into nothingness and left the lives of those they each left behind shattered. I was at home from work the day 911 happened and was in total shock.
Certainly, I'm glad we've had men like you who would stand against crme n our world. And I feel honored to have the opportunity to read a little of your life of service to your community, and to the country in which you live

I share your loss. We enjoyed the short life of our kitten, Skittles. He got sick eating at a neighbor's house around the time pet food was contaminated and caused kidney failure and death for many pets. He was eight months old and much too young to die. In that short time he lived we were revived. His enthusiasm and affectionate nature was hard to resist. Our hearts opened wider and grew softer because of him.

Thank you for your kind words. Mississippi State has notified us that they have completed the necropsy on Riley. However, we have not received the results yet. We should receive Riley's ashes today or tomorrow and we will place him with our other pets that we have returned to the earth in the past. A staff member brought my wife and I a little "Hemingway" cat--one with extra toes all round. While Polly can replace Riley in no way, this little kitten brings new life into our home and we are grateful for that. Our Siamese, Tallulah, has ceased looking for her former companion and is now focusing on Polly--a positive sign, indeed. Once more, thank you for your expression of sympathy and I truly appreciate your feelings over the loss of Skittles.

dear Mike, I've read all your journals. You're work on domestic violence is to be commended. It must be stressful and frustrating to witness and trying to resolve these kind of issues. Thank God I don't know of any situations such as these but if I did you can believe the 911 call would be made. I have no tolerance for that type of behavior especially when children (innocent children are involved and harmed). Sorry about your cat. How sad. We become so attached to our pets and their passing is like a family member. We've lost pets through the years and we still miss them. I do have a suggestion. Maybe you could publish your journals separately. I'm wondering if our members are seeing Sullivan's Travels and thinking they have already read it. Try clicking on "Add Journal" to publish your journal next time. Unless, you mean for them to be all in one. I'm just now figuring my way around this site too and I could be wrong. I'd especially like your journals on domestic violence to reach all our group. This is a big problem and may help someone. Thanks and keep in touch,
Zil
