My Journals (4)

My photos since I started going on missions have gone in to the hundreds.  I have decided to start sharing my photos in my profile at random.  The young girl sitting next to me is Yolanda.  She resides in a shelter where the state of Honduras keep abused young girls between the ages of 13-17 years.  Some of these young ladies have mental disorders or have been abused by their father or grandfather.  The social workers that work there are just there for the job and no concern for the patients.  Yoland couldnt speak of hear when I first met her.  I prayed for her and by the power of GOD she told me her name.  AMEN

We departed from MLK center approx 8:30am July 25, 2008.  David Hill- 1000 Hills Ministry, Jeong Levinson-Dentist, Pastor Constanino J Santiago-Maya descendant, Mike Malkames-Gateway-Community church-missions, Rudy Perez-Gateway-community church.  Our flight was delayed for about an hour and a half.  When we arrived at Guatamala City we were amazed at the moderzation of the airport.  The floors had beautiful tile along with a lot of construction going on for future expansions.  Our transportation drivers were waiting for us upon arrival.  I was greeted by Roselen Albertina Chun Chun, 13 yrs old.  We boarded the van for our 4hr trip to our final destination.  The roads we busy with alot of traffic, gas prices was $5.39 usd a litter, the rate of exchange was 7.39 x $1.00 usd.  The roads were rough but at times we had a smooth pavement but it was rare.  We stopped along the way at a corn on the cob stand being ran by a grandmother and two young boys.  Our final destination was the city of San Bartolo Aguscalentes.  Maya customs is to greet company upon arrival with fireworks, so we had a warm greeting on the first turn off to our destination by a group of men, women, and children.  We proceeded to the main plaza of San Bartolo where we were greeted by another group of men and more fireworks.  We were invited to sit down for supper but we had one more stop to make and that was the drivers house.  Again we were grfeeted with more fireworks and a meal of chicken sandwiches with hot coffee.  We headed back to the main plaza for supped on a long table with some music.   July 26-  Morning wake up wasn't a pleasant one, my back felt like I had been stabbed with a spear.  I was hurting so bad that the thought I had for a split second was that I wasn't going to be able to go up into the mountains.  Satan was trying to discourage me but my spirit was high and I rebuked the thought..  I asked Mike for prayer on my back for complete healing in faith.  We departed to have breakfast at Pastors Constantino sisters house.  Upon arrival we were amazed seeing so many women and children sitting along the street waiting for transportation.  Little did we know that the same women & children that were waiting for transportation on the street were heading to the mountain that we were going to be going too.  As we arrived at the mountain, there were groups all over the area waiting for us.  We took pictures, shared a small testimony of ourselves, had a praise & worship service and Pastor Constantion share the word of GOD.  Mike notes: 1st Hill Church -  1.  Build a roof 20 x 40  2.  5-10 benches 8ft long  3.  Spanish Bibles   4.  Sound System   5.  rent a dozer to level ground  6.  purchase chickens for raising
