"A Pope who doesn't die: The inheritance of John Paul II" is the title of the latest book written by Gian Franco Svidercoschi, who was deputy editor of the Holy See's newspaper "L'Osservatore Romano" during the pontificate of Pope Wojtyla.

The presentation of the new book took place on Friday, October 23rd, at the Vatican Publishing House in Rome. At the price of 11 Euros, the book affords the reader with stories that have never before been told about the life of John Paul II. Though many books have already been written about Pope Wojtyla, Svidercoschi explained to h2onews why John Paul II never dies:

"These people, this huge crowd of people, are the ones who in some way keep him alive, that is, the people who visit his tomb to have a conversation with him, to talk to him, and to ask him for something...

...I think that it goes beyond the marble slab that covers the Pope's body. He is a Pope who doesn't die, who lives on because he is kept alive by the people who need a reference point. He evinced transcendence to them as a reference point, this is what he taught. And perhaps for this reason people continue to visit him in order to thank him and carry on their conversation with him."
