When I was in grade school we lived in East Point Georgia and these plants were outside my bedroom window. Our blooms were green. Liked them but yours are prettier!

I planted three bushes a couple of years ago. The first Summer nothing, but a couple of blooms. I think I put some type of plant food on them that Summer???? This year, and I have no idea why... they were so full of blooms the branches fell down.

We even have been in a drought, in Ga the past couple of years, and still the plant grew and grew and I did nothing to aid it. I did water them, when they had all those blooms, since they looked like they needed water. Also, they do get sun, at least a good part of the day.(morning to mid afternoon) When I planted them, I did not know they liked shade and so, they were not planted in the shade.

Funny, how plants are, as they just do what they want to do... I smile as I looked at them bloom so beautifully and always think of my Momma.... Hence the name of my Journal....

I just took blooms, from the plant last week and put them in a vase to dry. So, far they are still looking fine....

Now, I am wondering what they will do next year..... Guess those plants are unique, and will surprise us....

Ohhhhhhh...your hydrangeas are gorgious!!! I have one bush that I'm trying to nurse along! When we bought it, it was covered in the prettiest blue blossom "pom poms". I've fed this one, and every year it grows bigger, but only twice has it bloomed. BOTH times, there was only ONE "pom pom" of blossoms! Both times, I tried to leave it on and wait for more, but finally could not resist...I brought the one :_( stem in with its beautiful blooms.
I'm wondering what in the world I could be doing wrong??? Next time it blooms, I'd better leave it to dry on its bush(?). The twice that it bloomed it was not even two years in a row! :_(
I have it in a shady spot, and I see it now has a "baby bush" growing beside it, so it can't be all that unhappy! :) Do you have any suggestions? (I always thought hydrangeas were one of those take-care-of-themselves plants!
I am in awe of yours! You are blessed!!!
