The New Linda at Sixty

Hello!  My name is Linda Harr and I live in Denver, Colorado and will be turning sixty at the end of the year.  I am trying to re-invent myself a little because of being a senior but I am not sure that it will work.  I am handicapped and I read with great interest any of your articles about handicapped people.  I have one handicapped son who lives in an adult group home and I lost another son in 2001 -  there have been a lot of trials the last few years.  I worry also about inflation, fair housing, and who the next president will be, but I also worry about the cost of health care and just plain living.   I often wonder how I would manage if I became homeless, although I live in low-income housing, it is still a worry.

Even with the stress, I do have a few hobbies, one of which is knitting as well as crocheting, and I love to listen to Sting, Phil Collins, and even AC-DC when the mood strikes.  How aout that for an almost old lady.  Well, that is about all.  Maybe when I get a better computer and a camera I can upload a picture.

                                                                        Thanks for listening

To Hollowwood: You are exactly right and I guess we can make things harder on ourselves at times than we should. We should never take on too much but we often feel obligated especially if we take care of a parent or handicapped child. Thank you

From Linda Harr: Also, do you remember when Paul McCartney sang "When I'm Sixty-four"? He must have been thinking very far ahead of his mates is those days!

Hi Linda,
We all share many of your concerns. I am trying to enjoy each day because we can't change the past, and we don't know the future. All we have is the gift of "The Present." Have a Great Day! Carol

Welcome to the site. There are some wonderful people here. I know it is easy for me to say, but ,stop worring so much. It will give you grey hair and ulcers. I know that for sure. Think of today, tomorrow may not come, and yesterday is gone. Have a good day. Later KM
