I was fortunate enough to have a boss at a small company I worked for early in my career put money into a SEP retirement fund for myself and other employees. It was up to us to invest it how we wanted to. But when I first checked in with the money manager I became so overwhelmed that I froze on a decision. That money ended up sitting there uninvested for several years because I did not make a move with it. Now that I'm older and know more about how time is the ultimate friend (or foe) of investing, I realize what a mistake it was to not make a move as soon as I could. It's not the hugest mistake I've ever made, but surely I've lost thousands of dollars because of it.
