I have not seen the Deusenberg Museum but I would love to. I have owned some very nice old Studebakers, Cadillacs, Fords and Chevys.

Hello LaVErne321, I am glad that you love nice old cars. So do I. Over the years my family and I have really enjoyed owning and showing and cruising and just going out for coffee in old classics. I became so comfortable and familiar with my old cars that I use them for daily drivers. Donnie

I had a hog car- 89 Mercury Grand Marquis, not very old, but I liked it.
- but only for 6 weeks until my teenage daughter hit a volvo with it.
Have you ever seen the Auburn Deusenberg Museum?

OUr education system is a huge bureacracy with no responsiveness to its own nees, except financially.

I personally believe that our public education system is doing the best they can with the tools at hand. I have outlined what I think are the root causes in our public education system

http://www.aarp.org/community/groups/displayTopic.bt?groupId=4922&topicId=100442&pageNum=1#zoom101512

But few adults, those people that can make the needed change are not listening.

The wheels turn daily, and progress is alsmost impossible.

A wheel at rest has no motion.

After years of teaching, I finally concluded that our biggest problem in education is not our government , but our culture. We do not , as a nation, have a deep respect for teachers, education, books and learining.

I remember my 4th grade teacher. He was a big man, once played in professional football or could have. He was my math teacher. A couple of other boys and I used to throw spit balls at the chalk board when he was witting something down. I tried his best to stay calm and continue to teach.

These memories make me very sad. I wish I could go to him and give him a big hug and say how sorry I am for my behavior. But alias he is more than likely dead by now.

My behavior was not a result of the school, it was a result of me and me alone, although my drunk fighting parents did not help.

To see that, you just have to go to the television, with all of its dumbed-down broadcasting.
Look at what sells in our stores?

Broad ban cable has much to offer. You can get the smut and you can get great science programs as well as our government in action on c-span. There is a lot of content there; it is your choice. I also like the cable news but lately it has become very opinionated. Then you can read a great sci-fi book in an hour on cable sci-fi. Its great entertainment, informative and the special effects are out of this world. What is there to complain--?
