Quilt Show in Weymouth, MA.

I went to a quilt show in a church in Weymouth.  They had the quilts laying over the back and seat part of the pews.  They were very pretty quilts.   I'm so used to a quilt show where all the quilts are hung up.  I'm not sure if I like a quilt show done this or with the quilts being hung up.  They were very pretty and inspiring.

Thank you, I just love birds. They are so beautiful. About Quilts, I have 3 that my grandmother made and they are precious to me. I can appreciate all the time and work that goes into them. But most importantly, love. (~_~) Do you have a quilting frame and do you do it all by hand or sew the scraps together by machine? My grandmother used to have an old treadle sewing machine and I can remember helping her sew things but she would only let me do straight lines. (~_~) It was the kind that you put both feet on and push forward and backward. I have many good memories of her when using her quilts.

Thanks for your comments. I'm new to the community too. It's a shame nobody has quilting bees any more (at least around here anyway). I love looking at quilts and making them. I love the picture of your cardinal. They are such a pretty bird.

Hello Kathleen! My name is Susie and I'm new to this AARP online community. I just wanted to say how beautiful that quilt is that you're holding in your picture. My grandmother used to have quilting (weren't they called quilting bees?) parties in her home. She had a quilting frame and her friends would come to help out. I used to visit her every summer, when school was out, and would enjoy talking with all the ladies. Sometimes I would crawl underneath the quilting frame to see what it looked like from underneath as they were sewing. She lived a long life until age 93. My hobby is backyard bird watching and taking pictures of them.
