About Me

Hello! Thanks for joining me in my new venture as a "My Dream Job" winner! It's going to be a great experience. My goal besides achieving my dream is to offer hope to others like myself that may be searching a new career in our "sunset years". It's never too late!

Interests:
Travel (have taken 5 cruises and would like to take many more); community volunteering; church leadership. Family and my 8 grandchildren are my lifelong interests. They are the reward for any of life's struggles.

My Journals (7)

This is my first week out of school and it's busy with personal interviews about my journey. One from an author in Oregon who's book is coming out in November and another from the local paper here where I live. It will be out next week. Both interviewers asked me to go back to my first job! Well, it takes about an hour to cover 40+ years!

Thank God for good memory, as I recall my career history starting in my early 20's.  These people are very kind as they listen to me speak about the mountaintops and valleys of my career and life. It feels a little strange to talk so much about oneself, but then that's what winning this contest is all about! Hope it touches someone!

I will keep everyone posted about my job search as there's activity in that arena too. Signing off from Sunny San Diego and I welcome  your comments!

I wanted to thank you for your kind and uplifting comments to me and wanted to extend my own to you. You sound pretty amazing to me and I admire you for going for this. In fact, let me tell you, you have inspired me to perhaps do this myself. I am going to write tonight or tomorrow about my unhappiness in my 5 months old job and feeling like I don't fit the job and it doesn't fit me. I have a history of working medical/dental but am behind the times in skills. Perhaps I need to take just such a class and get a good job in the healthfield again. I know that I miss it a lot. So....God does indeed work in mysterious ways.

You go Girl. Keep up the good work and keep the faith.
BTW, my own 7 grandchildren are my pride and joys but 5 live in FL and I live in Texas. I work in San Marcos, TX and knew there is a San Marcos, CA and saw you live there. Wow.
Take care
Jeannie
