About Me

Hi, there. As you can see, I live in Greenville, SC - moved here in October 1998 from Bradenton, Fl to be with Mom, Sis and 2 Brothers. Lately, I have been thinkng about retiring in Cumberland, MD - my pastor's wife said this is a quaint town and really enjoyed living there while they pastored a church there. I have been reading up on it online and believe this just might be the retirement town for me. Hopefully, I will have chance to visit at Thanksgiving. I have a son- he has 2 daughters, between him and his wife, they have 3 daughters. And, I have a daughter-she has 4 daughters (2 are twins). So, I have 7 granddaughters-no grandsons, tho. Our church did the Daniel Fast in January of '09 and ever since then, I have become a vegen. As I am learning more and more about this lifestyle choice, I am also learning to be a really great cook (if I do say so myself!). Once I get a few great recipes, I plan to prepare a fabulous vegen meal for some of my non-vegitarian friends and will have a ball preparing it. I believe in living a healthy lifestyle and this will be a big part of it. Here in Greenville, it is difficult to find many places to be able to eat a vegan meal. Next will be walking everyday. I have recently joined a meet-up group here in Greenville - Vegans. I have already been to one getogether and I was so excited. I could eat everything there and not worry if there was any meat or dairy or eggs in the food. It was so great!

Interests:
I am active in my church (Assembly of God) working with the special needs ministry. I have really made some wonderful friends through this ministry, The Ark Special Needs Ministry. I also assist with the 13-week DivorceCare program at church. That is really, really difficult listening to the people trying to make sense of things that have turned out the way they did - especially to Christians. I don't know the answer to that, either. But we are there to guide them through the journey. Someday, I hope to get married to a great, spirit-filled man with the same values that I have. If this is God's will, it will happen. I enjoy antiques, and go "gaga" over thrift stores, I really need to live in a mansion, I would have a ball decorating it. Alas, I live in a much smaller home so have to watch how I buy, but you would not know that if you saw my attic! In preparation for retirement, I believe I will start going through my attic and begin thinning out my "stuff" by taking them to the flea market. Plan to use the money I make for my trip to Florida for Thanksgiving of 2009. I like to dance, especially to the 50's and 60's music. I also enjoy line dancing. (I have not done much of either lately). I am trying to have a beautiful garden, but am not successful. The weeds just get ahead of me. My home is a 98 year old mill village house - I really love it!

I have some GREAT comment graphics about belated birthdays saved in photobucket but AARP won?t allow me to post them. Well, then again to be fair, I can post them but all that will come up will be the HTML codes. Grrrrrrr! And because I?m a typical Scorpio I refuse to use graphics from the small group of ponderous comment websites that AARP DOES allow.

Anyway, your direct message of course caused me to come to your profile page again which reminded me that we share November 2nd as our birthdays.

So happy belated birthday Kathryn.

Despite the fact that most social networking websites remind their members of friend?s birthdays, I apologize for missing Yours (ours).

One just has to LOVE the question marks that this stupid website uses to replace the proper punctuation parenthesis used in normal common ordinary writing as an explanatory or qualifying word, clause, or sentence, would you not agree? No wonder people get frustrated with this Mickey Mouse website.
