security info on line and I have decided to wait a few more years before I use my benefits. I am healthy and can work as much as I sign up for,I am fortunate to have that option. Thanks again,

Does anyone know anything about getting your benefits and still work part time?? I'm trying to figure out how that works. I realize if you make over whats allowed, they will take a dollar for every one you make that is over. What if you make too much one month and not the next?? I am 62

You have not yet reached full retirement age, so $1.00 in benefits will be deducted for each $2.00 you earn above the annual limit. For 2009 that limit is $14,160; and for 2008, that limit is $13,560.
You can find details and examples at http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov. Choose question #11, "How much can I earn and still receive Social Security benefits?"
