THE UPCOMING ELECTION

.     Have any of you decided who you are going to vote for?   I haven't and I don't think I will really know until Election day.

There are a few who have already decided and for what I consider a very silly and juvenile reason. Now I was for Hillary Clinton and yes I was upset when she didn't get the nomination, but I got over it.  Apparently there are those who have not gotten over it and are going to punish her Party by voting for the other Party because they have a female running mate. WOW such clear and concise thinking.

I and I'm sure many, many others are trying to decide who will be the best choice to be our President and lead us through this mess we are in now. In the mean time Hillary is minding her own business, keeping a low profile and doing her job in Washington.

I would like very much to hear what she has to say about all this.

ADC says:

This year, this lifelong independent voter and advocate will vote for the team, not just the presidential candidate. Because the current VP (Chaney) expanded the role of the VP (not exactly constitutionally)with the cooperation of our current president, the VP candidate is just as important as the presidential candidate. I favored McCain until he selected Palin. I don't think we should be concerned with personal attacks. I'm disgusted with all of them. I will vote for Obama and Biden as the best team to lead our country toward unity and less divisive politics. They respect our constitution with it's built in checks and balances regardless of party. They are honorable enough to admit if they made an error instead of constantly flinging blame without dealing with the consequences. They will not cut out people simply because they have a different view than they do. They will listen to those with opposing views and use all the information that they can gather from experts of all parties and backgrounds prior to making an important decision. I see them as not only bipartisan but inclusive in their actions, not exclusive as the Bush regime has been. I see no honor at all in Palin. She's great with the camera and can schmooze with the best but I do not want her that close to the presidency. She needs to grow into her own potential prior to national office. McCain has disappointed me with his obvious temper and lack of poise. How our president comports him or herself is very important. A leader who is calm in the eye of the storm and who shows inner strength is what we need..not anybody whose past heroics and bluster incites people. Our president needs to not only be a person who one would want to meet, but a leader who will do what is necessary to improve and save our country. I believe that Obama will lead us, not dictate to us. I'm voting for the Dems in the presidential race this year and for a republican senator..go figure

I don't like to mince words, I tell everyone I know that anyone who votes for McCain is either a fool or a racist. Lord knows there are a lot of those two types in this country. I pray that there's not as many of them as there are of the others. We'll see come election day.

Fool - One who is deficient in judgment, sense, or understanding. One who acts unwisely on a given occasion.

Bigot - A prejudiced person who obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices ; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

I have no problem in determining what party to vote for. If I hired George Bush to work for me and he lied to me, and it was proven, he would be fired. If I hired a him to watch my companies books and I found out that he had ran the account out of money and had borrowed from my competition and spent my childrens inheratance to hide the facts, he would be fired. If I found out that under his supervision all my managers were allowed to foster poor business practices that would impact the world economy. He would be fired. I could go on forever about the failures of this man, and his republican party. Anyone that claims to be a republican and has balls enough to put a sticker on their car for the current republican team, and admits he voted for the last, should be responsible enough to pay higher taxes to help fix the mess they created. I do not believe the republican party lives in the here and now.

McCain states average income = 5,000,000 dollars a year
and that Joe the plumber makes 250,000 a year. Talk about a dream world. Joe should worry about his taxes. Even at a 50% tax rate he would take home Many time what the single mother Joe takes in as a secretary will. He pays her 8.00 an hour, wont give her help with medical, and votes down national health care. In fact he can't understand why he should contribute to the likes of her and the rest of the lazy people in this country. Its time for republicans stop being so greedy.

Dont be one of the people who appear to not be able to think for themselves, think, and your decision is easy.

Ps If your a true christian you know you will be held to account for voting republican

I, too, am a life long Democrat, but I will be voting for McCain/Palin. I do not believe in killing unborn babies and surely do not want to be told what I can do and where I can go to Church - which is what will happen if Obama gets voted in. Please do your homework on this man. You owe that much to your children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren. I have never voted Republican in my life but I certainly will come election day

I really hope you don't wait that long. Hillary knows that it was not for her this time. She's accepted that fact and so should you & Bill. Barack will make a very good President. We as Democrats need to get behind the candidate that our Party has chosen. Four more years of the Republican regime will surely sink us deeper into debt and who knows what else. His (Barack) plan will work with a Democratic Congress. He & Joe Biden will see us through the next four years and hopefully another four after that.

I was for Hillary but 1 will vote for Obama with no qualms.I can tell you from my experience {33 years} with the US Social Security Administration as a Claims Representative that I am thoroughly familiar with the history, financing and benefit structure of the Social Security program. Mr. McCain views on Social Security are absolutely contrary to the facts. I don't want to go into great detail on this so I'll just mention one fact now, the Federal Goverment actually borrows money from the Social Security Trust Funds and pays interest to the SSA.The concepts of our system are similar to most Euoropean systems and they all work just fine. There are many others reasons I could enumerate but I don't want to beat this to death.I am the son of a career Army Officer{Colonel} and I served for 3 years as an Army Officer{1st Lieutanant} myself.I respect Mr. McCain's service and definitely consider him to be a war hero.I have read military and political history beginning from an early age. Just military service does not give a person a better ability than a non Veteran to be Commander-in-Chief.What is of primary importance in this area is temperment, intelligence and judgement particularly when nuclear weapons are involved. I think Mr. Obama is better in those traits.Based on my opinions I do not believe the Republican economic theories are valid. I have my reasons but I think The"proof is in the pudding".Just look at the state of the economy now. There are many other areas I could discuss in regard to our chocie for president but for the sake of brevity I would like to make some final points. I believe Barack Obama is a better leader for the 21st Century,he is not mired in the past.He possesses great intelligence, temperment, judgement and flexibility. Obama is clearly the best choice to be our next president

I too am a life-long Democrat who is supporting the McCain-Palin ticket. My reasons are many:
McCain has the balance of experience with being a bit of a maverick. He is an independent thinker, which did not necessarily endear him to the Republican party. He is not a Bush clone as many Obama supporters would have people think. He knows the value of freedom. He has experienced the loss of that freedom and the painful consequences.

He has significant foreign policy experience, much more than Obama. He has the leadership and expertise to get us through a rough economic period.

He is highly ethical, which is so refreshing in this day and age. He has integrity and there are so many political people for whom that seems to have disappeared.

I was a McCain supporter before he announced Palin as his running mate. I must say that I was absolutely thrilled. It again showed that he was a maverick and picked someone totally not a Washington insider. She is truly a breath of fresh air. She is down-to-earth, intelligent and has a wealth of experience with energy. She also actually executive experience.

I think Obama is an excellent orator, but I do not feel that he is qualified to lead and I simply do not agree with his foreign policy, health care, and taxes, to name a few.

The McCain-Palin ticket is the answer for the so-called Main-Street Americans.

I too have been a life long Democrat, that is up until this year. Many things have influenced my decission to change..there goes that infamous word "change". It is the big question...change?...to make different! Well it appears to me too many things haved changed...ethics have changed from good to bad and worse...our trust in our government has changed from fair to worse to bad. Capaigns have become fanfares...how many millions of US $$$ have supported this years election...do you think the wanton spending has helped the average, hardworking person pay for his mortgage, his gas, their food on their tables or lack there of. The campaign parties have no shame in their spending. My suggestions let each candidate travel on their own money, give them scheduled air time on tv.. and none of the slanderous ads..that are wasteful and devious. Get to the point what can you do for our country to make it a better and worthwhile place to live. There is no doubt that are country has been mismanaged...how are you proposing to untangle what Bush has done and the mess the Democratic house has also made during the last several years. I am sick and tired of pompousness of the Dem. Party..don't point fingers only at Pres. Bush you are a greedy lot also...your party is just at much fault for what has happened on Wall St, with mtgs., banks and loans that should never have been given. Everyone can't own a home if they don't have enough to pay for it. What Utopia do you live in. In my day if you could not put 20% down..you waited till you could..and then you valued that purchase...not just "bailed-out" because you had nothing invested. Well I could go on & on but that is enough venting on my part for today. I invite any and all of you to vent..and vent loudly..tell Obama, tell McCain...we want answers, solutions not rhetoric...we know where we have come from..WHERE ARE WE GOING!!

I WOULD THINK WE WOULD BE OUT OF OUR MINDS TO VOTE FOR A MAN TO RUN OUR COUNTRY WHO HAS THE MIDDLE NAME OF "HUSSEIN:,,WE BETTER SEE THE RED FLAGS,THERE IS A JOURNAL IN HERE FROM A MAN THAT POSTED A HISTORY OF OBAMA,,AS FOR REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT......IT WAS NOT A WHITE AMERICAN OR HIS HERITAGE THAT PERFORMED THE HERENDOUS ACT OF TERRORIZM ON 9-11..HOW QUICKLY WE FORGET.

After 2 wars and the worse economic crisis since the Great Depression I am not going to vote Republican again. Maybe Obama isn't the answer, but I can't vote for McCain without thinking of what my grandchildren will have to solve after another dose of Republican not caring.
