You mentioned about your loved Daisy, I had a big black lab called Cleo. She died last spring from a massive stroke I had her put down. Loved her and lost my girl. So I would never lose her I had her cremated and I have on my mantal by my desk. People may think I am crazy but when I die I will be cremated also and if my Skipper who I raised on a bottle from birth dies befoe me He will also be creamted and all three of our ashes will be threw out over the mountain we have called home for 10 years. My son will have his boss fly him over the mountain so he can do it. They are family. We love our dogs{kids]. We want to build a kennel so we can take in more dogs that are put to death because the Anuimal Control don't want to care for the. They don't care. Is a shame the way some animals are treated. I am with a group of friend that have a large number of dogs taken in fostering them. We just take the old dogs no one want and will be put down for sure so they can live out their natural lives. We only have one left now. Had three die of old age. ONe my big Walker Hound. Pretty dog. Running out of space so ,Hope you and family had a great Christmas and you will have a Happy Prosperous New Year, Blessed with Love, Good Health and Happiness.

My son and I work with the Friends For Life which is a group of ladies who adopt dog out from the animal control. If we don't
take them out they will be put down. Have save several hundred in the past tree years. We take out dogs all ages and size. I adopted a big black Lab and had her until she died last spring of old age. I had her cremated and she is on my mantle. I have 2 small doggs also. My Walker hound died of old age. We love dogs. We take the undoptable old age dogs and let them live out their natural lives.

I admire people like you?If I started fostering dogs from shelters, I?d end up with 40 dogs in my back yard, because I wouldn?t want to part with any of them?My current dog Grace came from a Lab Rescue Group and my dog Daisy before Grace came from our local shelter?I?ve had some very good and lovable dogs in my lifetime, but Daisy was my best until cancer took her from me.

Hi Nell

I am so sorry you lost your pup, but it will get better..I still have moments of grief for Daisy... It couldn't have hurt any more had I lost one of my kids...Thanks for your kind words.

I feel your pain and send healing vibes your way. I lost Tarka, my long-coated Akita this past year and I tear up, too, when I think of her. I am trying to stretch my heart to 'big enough' to get another Akita since there are so many animals in need and big dogs don't get adopted as easily as small dogs (statistics also say black dogs/cats don't get adopted out as easily either). May you find comfort in the companionship you and your wife shared

Hi Geekette

Thanks for the kind words.

Little ole Daisy has been gone for almost a yr and half now and it still hurts, but little by little it gets better?I can certainly feel your pain in losing Tarka?Hopefully, the hurt you have hurt is getting better too.

Wish you the best.

I like your dog.He looks like my best friend "Rascal".He is Yellow Lab/Chow.
Hope she gives you as much love & happyness as Rascal does.
Mine is pretty calm with me & will obay me but the wife takes him for a walk & he drags her around the neighborhood.
