About Me

I'm an ageless vegetatarian who retired to Florida in 2001. I've traveled all 50 states, lived in Buenos Aires for 3 years (during 10 years of marriage to an Argentine) and have visited many countries including Vietnam twice (the first at U. S. government expense in the Sixties). I still travel extensively doing free-lance photo and writing assignments during summers which I spend in Kansas City where I still have a townhouse. Subjects usually involve turf and horticulture (management of golf courses, professionally maintained lawns, shrubs and gardens). My passions are ballroom and swing dancing (which is how I became aquainted with Shelby and these boards). Besides nearly daily visits to these boards, dancing 4 or 5 times a week, golf, bowling and cruises are favorite pasttimes.

HTEE & MILLIE NEED SOME LUCK -- AND OUR PRAYERS!

Gustav's landfall expected tomorrow near New Orleans. Just emailed HTee and his wife Millie that I see them safe and sound. They experienced the ravages of Katrina and lost so much. Now, almost 3 years to the day, the storm of the century approaches New Orleans. We need to hold Harry and Millie, as well as their offspring and grandchildren who live nearby, good luck this time and a quick return to their home in Sliddell, LA!

Hi Hal, Dancing is also one of my favorite things. Is Largo far from Orlando? The only Largo I know of is Key Largo and I love any of the Keys. Travel is one of the greatest experiences I can think of. I just would prefer to travel with someone for the sharing of the memories, no one really wants to see all the pictures.
I have a grandson 18 in Kansas City, MO., which one are you in?
Are you expecting a lot of rain from Gustav? My son and family lives is Miss. so I expect they will be coming here Mond. we'll know more by Sunday I guess.
