Thank you Jen for dropping by to say Hello. Yes, the spring like weather is about to change into the humid, hot days of summer. We are now experiencing the LoveBug season. A white car suddenly becomes black as these little rascals smash against the car.

No, no, HTee -- it DOESN'T tell you that. It tells you nothing. You hit Reply, Send, or Submit but your message simply goes nowhere. Then, assuming it got posted, you waste more time trying to find it--at least til you wise up (i.e. realize you first must join the Group).
You are one smart Cookie to figure that out. So do you first look to see whether you are an accepted group member before you start typing a reply or comment or whatever you want to call it. Off on another topic. I read a reply by CoffeeDrinker and he was saying Katelib had visited the old site. Another person had asked him about her. Being the nosy sort, I searched the old board and found her last posting was to you on 8-20-07. She had replied to me on 1-01-07 when I asked how her house rebuilding was coming along. Have you heard anything from her recently? If so, you could pass the info on to Coffeedrinker.
Yea, it's hard to believe we can figure this out without an explicit set of directions. At least, the most sophisticated web sites often have a Site Map page.
Also, I wonder what purpose is served by becoming a "member" of a group? One of the disadvantages is you can waste a lot of time typing. For several weeks, I wondered how and why my reponses and new topic postings were disappearing after I clicked Reply or Send. A blurb or a pop-up (to non-members) saying "You must be a member in order to reply" would help the unitiated from wasting time composing replies that will go nowhere.
Well, enough gripes. It's church day. and I feel bettter counting my blessings. I hope you, Millie and your progeny are having a great weekend.
Hal: It is truly great to read someone as sharp as you has problems similar to mine. But as I have stated in one of my emails to Shelby, I promise to be behave and not complain. Right now, as I type this comment, I keep asking why it is limited to such a small space, such small font. I guess it is because it is not a Topic but merely a comment. Yes, Hal, it is most distressing to have to be a member of a group in order to post a reply. I can picture your frustration when you have devoted time to write a reply and when you select the Send button, you are then told you cannot reply to the topic because you are not a member of the group. But remember this, you and I will learn how to cope with all of the rules which are in effect on this new site. Isn't it a shame the BETA version was not tested in advance before subjecting us to this irritation?
