About Me

- Myspace Comments MySpace Comments
- Myspace Comments My name is Kathy. I recently turned 52. (March, 2008). I am a housewife or as I, in the past, would put on our income tax returns 'Domestic Engineer'. I got the nickname "Grandma Hippie" from my grandkids, so when I seen this cartoon pic of a grandma hippie I just had to have it. I don't quite look like that, yet, but getting close :) I guess that it is because of the way we dress (yeah, hubby is 'Grandpa Hippie'), blue jeans and such, our long hair and because of the music, mostly 1960's, we listen too. Believe me, it isn't for any 'drug' reasons. Never did any of that kind of thing. I have been married to my husband for almost 34 years. We have a daughter and son, both grown and married, and three grandkids, grandaughter 14yrs, and two grandsons, ages 8yrs and 7yrs. At this point in our lives, life is truly good and we are blessed.

Interests:
LOVE MUSIC, I LOVE MY MUSIC. I tried to come up with some sort of 'Theme' to this music playlist, which comes from my 'gut' and my beliefs, and the way I think. I don't care if the music came from the 60's or White Lions "When The Children Cry" that came out in the early 90's. I choose to end it with Michael Jackson's "Man In The Mirror" cause that is where we all have to start. We need to look at ourselves in the mirror and 'make a change'. We all need to hear these songs again. I think that you will understand my heart if you listen to all of the music tracks. And what my heart and soul hopes and prays for is that people find a way to change. I hope that people find a way to love again and care again. Know what I mean? I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY. Take Care and God Bless All Of You !!

I never do this. I never leave exactly the same message to each one of my friends but I'm going to do it today. In the last month I have heard of two friends who have experienced a TIA (commonly known as a mini-stroke). One is a man in his 40s and the other a woman in her 50s. In honor of these dear people and all the loved ones my family has lost to heart disease I am sending this same message to each of my friends.

Jcofla has a profile here on AARP that you need to see. Please, take just a few minutes to read John's journal "Breakfast in Bed" and to watch three short videos about the American Heart Association's "Go Red For Women Day". Then take another minute to tell John thank you! You can find his profile here:
