I hope this is okay with you that I post this, Jeannie. I consider myself a spiritual, not a religious person...a self-proclaimed free roaming spirit, if you will. :P After reading your journal along with a message I just received from another dear AARP friend, I found myself being lead toward this poem...a poem I've never seen before and just chanced upon while searching the Internet. I always pay attention whenever spirit guides...perhaps there's something in here that will help comfort you, my friend:
.
For Everything There's a Season ~Joy E. Walker Steward~
.
We may not know the reason
For all of life's suffering and pain,
But we know everything has its season,
So the sunshine will follow the rain;
There are even times when the sun shines
While the rain is still pouring down,
Those moments of grace God sends us,
Reminders that He's still around;
So when adversity's fire is burning,
Expect a cooling breeze;
Know that God is right in it with you
As He moves your growth to achieve;
Embrace His tender compassion
But yield to His discipline too
For the father loves each of his children
And knows best how to nurture you;
When life's pruning is painful,
Don't let bitterness enter your soul,
For when pruning is done you'll be better,
Your heart and your spirit whole;
So if this is your season for weeping,
Know your tears will end with the night,
For joy always comes in the morning
When faith gives way to sight.

Thank you Cappy. This was exactly what I needed to read. I, too, believe that we are guided sometimes and that you were guided to share this with me.
I am trying hard to not be bitter. I understand that some things are beyond our ken.
Please have a wonderful day. Your shared words will help mine be better

I'm glad it did help some, Jeannie.

Gosh, I do know how hard it is not to be bitter whenever someone has hurt you...especially so whenever they are detached, not taking responsibility or showing any concern for the consequences of their actions.
.
It helps to remember that every single one of us sees/experiences the world through different eyes. We act/react according to our own personal viewpoint, which is no one's truth but our own. So, don't take any of it personally and waste your energy. By taking things personally, we set ourselves up to emotionally suffer needlessly...get my drift? ;)
.
Be well, have a nice Thursday. :)
