allthough I am not a senior, I joined the Old AARP message boards during the Bush administrations push to pass the New Medicare Prescription drug bill... allhtough the bill passed, I fought against that Bill, and am an advocate for seniors. I opened this board around the time AARP decided to close the old boards, so we would have a pLace to post our opinions. I am not here a lot due to my job, but there are moderators taking care of things. I am a heath care provider, working in a level one Trauma center with a surgical team. I live in Northern Illinois over looking the Mississippi River, with my best friend Hunter, who happens to be a 4 year old Yellow Lab. I live a single life, and love to be my own person with no strings attached. I am a member of several clubs and organizations... I love to canoe, kayak, and ski in my free time... I love the outdoors, and enjoy vacationing in the wilderness

Interests:

I am an avid sports fan, of both pro and college sports... football, basketball & baseball.. I play a lot of fantasy sports, and own a fantasy football league where I have been commissioner for 9 years. I belong to a hiking club, we backpack in remote areas of the country each year.. this year 2009, we back packed in the Tetons for a week... My paddlers club kayaked Hells canyon Idaho. I love cross country skiing, and last year went on my first Dog Sled adventure in Northern Wisconsin.. you can tell Im an outdoors girl... I love to read, mostly non fiction, and am a Civil war, and World War 2 histroy buff.
