About Me

I am a 66 year old lesbian woman. I have 3 adult daughters. I am in transition. I am moving in with my middle daughter, but I still maintain my own home in case it doesn't work out. I've been here for a year now. I work as a lawyer (it's what I do, not what I am) and have my own firm. I am trying to semi retire, but my staff make it difficult. I like to sew, bead, make jewelry, I've made a few dolls, sing with a bad voice, listen to audio tapes , watch TV, bowl and I'm a very poor golfer because I play so little. I had written 5 chapters of the great American novel but my grand kids erased it by mistake. Once that freed up my time I started taking drawing classes. That was going along okay until I purchased all the drawing supplies I could ever use, then I lost interest. But I will never run out of pencils and I still love the smell of a pencil box. I am very overweight, 5'2'' and 205 pounds. I was approved for a gastric bypass until they decided I have lupus, now I'm not sure the surgery will continue to be approved. So it looks like going back to a life of dieting, and so far I've been a failure at that. I can lose up to 30 pounds, then the race is on to find it again.

If I may, I would like to share something about weight loss. I am 5'9" 295 lbs. Diabetic. I was 350 lbs. A diabetic dietician suggested that I eat 60 grams of carbohydrate for the three main meals during the day 30 grams for an evening snack. The accompanying protein and fats would usually take care of themselves in the make of a meal. I learned to read food labels.
By following this regimen, I found I could eat practically anything I liked and feel satisfied. No denying chocolate. No denying sweets. Just read the label or a chart that list carbohydrates per portion. I can indulge in a big mac, small fries and a diet soda and not break the limit.
As for me I must avoid fish and seafood due to bad headaches, tunnel vision and severe arthritic pain in all joints and swelling of feet. Other than that I enjoy this regimen without feeling hungry.
You may want try a lower carbohydrate amount due to your stature. Also you should discuss this with your health practitioner
