In Bismarck, the National Weather Service reports the overnight storm brought the city's December snow total to 33.5 inches. That's more than any month on record in Bismarck. It tops the mark of 31.1 inches in March 1975.

I love your picture, and the Winter poem! I think you need to get a dog with taller legs, so he doesn't get lost in the snow!

I was raised in Erie, Pa. so I know what REAL snow is. I have lived in Texas since 1974 and would never consider moving back up north

The picture is so beautiful. I have never seen snow like that - I live near Dallas, Texas, and I have never been up North. My husband is from Duluth, Minnesota, and as a youngster - he had to shovel snow to clear the driveway of their house.

Your picture is really beautiful. I would love the experience of being where there is snow like that!!!!

Sincerely,
Charline

WINTER Poem

It's winter in North Dakota
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.

Oh, how I love North Dakota

When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around

I could never leave North Dakota

I'm frozen to the ground!
