Teach me to feel another's woe, To hide the fault I see; That mercy I to others show, That mercy show to me. ***************** Alexander Pope (1688-1744)

Our Cloud Of Witnesses

We strain, struggle and push ahead in life.

We wonder if we are going to make it.  Is it

all worth it?

Did you know that we have a cloud of witnesses

watching us, urging us on, and cheering?

I have heard it said that we are being watched

by those who have gone on before us.  They

are sitting on bleachers, and allowed to see

us pass through.  I don't know if that is true

but I believe we do have loved ones awaiting

us.  Our friends who have gone ahead are

saying "you can make it, keep pushing."

The main thing is to know the one and only

source of strength is our Lord Jesus Christ.

He has given us His Holy Spirit, sealed us

and call us by name.  [Provided we have asked

Him into our hearts.]   I want to  see my loved

ones and friends who have gone ahead of me,

but, more than anything I want to see the One

who died for me and gave His life for me, so I

may have eternal life.

Being good isn't going to get us into Heaven,

being nice isn't going to get us there.  If you

are at the stage of life where you have given

thought to the afterlife, just remember Jesus

said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life."

"The way to the Father is by Me."

Our cloud of witnesses are cheering us on.  They

have seen the Lord.  They knew the Way into the

Kingdom, and maybe they are sitting on bleachers

at times watching and urging us to 'hang in there,'

shouting 'you can make it.'

We will make it.  Yes, we will.

An amazingly encouraging piece of writing! I would add that "He Who began a good work in us will perform it until the end." Very rough paraphrase

I often think of the Angels of God watching the outcome for those of us who will be Overcomers. I believe they have no favorites, rather they are cheering each of us who p****the finish line, because we at one point in our life made the choice to join the race for home by claiming Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Now I have a new way to think of them... our Cloud of Witnesses

Charline: Honey, if you can please count me as a friend. I lost my
best friend on Jan. 30th.. the last evening I spoke with her. I beleive
I can listen to help you through it. I might cry with you if that is okay.
My friend and I were best friends for 29 years. I felt so lost for a while.
I said she was on one side and my hubby on the other through out the
years. ( I am under 5' tall) so they being larger, I felf like someone had
pulled one of my pillars away.
God bless you and I WILL pray for you. In any case if you chose to want
to communicate, I would be most happy.

This is so beautiful. I am a 2 year cancer survivor and a dear friend of mine just passed away on June 21st and I am having a real hard time dealing with her passing. This is a beautiful message and helps me know that those friends and family that have gone on before us, are cheering us on. Many thanks for sharing this with everyone.
