About Me

I live in beautiful coastal North Carolina. Life is slow and easy here. I look forward to each new morning and always expect the unexpected. My husband is my best friend and my children are my pride and joy. My grandchildren are my pride and joy multiplied by a million! After several years as Executive Director of our countys' Chamber of Commerce and living life at lightning speed, my days are now filled with time and opportunities to do all the things I love and that feeds my soul

Interests:
Reading and writing is my passion. I believe that sharing the stories of childhood and ancestors is one of the greatest gifts we can hand down to the future generations of ones' family. So-I attempt to chronicle all things I deem important. Even silly stories passed to me by my grandfather. He was a real southern gentleman but had very opinionated ideas of what "those crafty people in congress" should be doing to make the middle mans' life better

Getting older certainly has its perks. I know who I am and whatI want. It no longer bothers me as to what others think of me and my decisions as I travel this road called life.  The curves in the road I have taken over the years, have been my own driving force.

Some of the curves have proven lucrative on many levels, others, not so much. But along this journey, I have become ME. I must say, the end result isn't so darn bad.

As I continue along this road I will be mindful to follow my intuitive mind, logic and determination. I will live life like I mean it. It is afterall, my only chance to get it right.

I read your comments on passing down the history of family and friends. I also think the same way. I would visit the family cemetery and one day it hit me that all I knew about most of my relatives was the hyphen between the born/died dates. So, I started writing about my family from my view. Other relatives have given me bits or told me the name of someone I couldn't remember. It's all in a blog up to my age of around 27 called musingsofanoldman.wordpress.com You're welcome to read it if you like. I wanted my family to know something about at least a few of their family members. Well, maybe skewed a bit from my vantage point, but still. . . Just keep in mind its a rough draft. I have to reread it and make the needed grammatics and spelling, but in general it should be readable
