About Me

Of all the things about me that I like, it is my mind that I love. My body only exists to give sustenance to my brain and to transport it from place to place as soon as it wants to go. Now, if I could only figure out how to scan and defragment my mind I'm sure that would give me mental clarity. Are you following this? *hahahaha* Ok, that's what it's like "About me". ;-))

Interests:
Paul, my husband, is my favorite interest. He's English and I'm sure he's the child of the Encyclopaedia Britannica! We enjoy doing funny things such as creating our own collective nouns
     (example: a gaggle of geese),
     • a siesta of Spaniards,
     • a bowler of English,
     • a thrift of Scots
As the collective-noun-creators before us did, we use double entendre too, coupled with the cynical twist of Paul the Englishman. What's our purpose? Laughter of course! I also crochet and I enjoy helping people.

Read your info re: feeling inferior. I'm amazed that people who are 50, 60......are still feeling badly from parental treatment. So sad.
Learned from counselors over the years (among other places oft quoted) that you can choose your "family." It doesn't have to be flesh & blood; just friends who love you; accept you, warts & all; & share in your joys & sorrows. Whether that's a male or female, straight or gay, relative or friend.......we need to "stop going to a dry well" & find those who'll lift us up with love. I've tried to do that in my adulthood & even more so after divorce following 30 years of marriage, since I didn't realize the negativity involved there as well.
Looking for friends, perhaps will find someone special again, who knows?
Any way to find out what part of the country/world people are in? I guess just checking their profiles, eh?
I'd love to hear you fiddle. Are you living where you grew up, or elsewhere?
I was born in TX (when my dad was going to school), moved to MI, where I lived until I was around 30, then moved to OK, NJ, PA, IL & back to TX. And here I'll stay, since I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the winters--especially being up north!

This is my first post here. Was drawn to Fiddler Lady because I LOOOOOVE fiddle music! (Familiar with the young group Old Crow Medicine Show? Saw them on PBS I just LOVE them. What a talented group of youngin's!) Even tho' born in TX, I was raised a Yankee & got back here as soon as I could! At 57, I JUST started taking clogging lessons with a group of local women & I absolutely love it!
Glad to be here with this group & look forward to getting to know everybody.
