I am very impressed with your life style. There are many East Indians living in my complex (most going to the Medical College of Wisconsin) They have shared their customs, religion, temple and everyday life with me. I find my Indian friends to be very gentle loving people.

That was one of the first things that "got" me when I came to India for the first time - how wonderful the people are! People in the west are very judgmental, and you don't even realize how much so, until you have the opportunity to live among people who will accept you as a friend and part of their lives without measuring your every move, and without "grading" you for everything you do and how you do it. I have never been surrounded by more friendly people, than here in India

I used to go to a Buddhist Temple in upstate New York. I helped build the temple along with my children. It is quite beautiful. I have always wanted to be in the presence of the Dalai Lama and I continue to support his efforts to go home. My son practices Buddhism, however I remain traditional Lakota in my beliefs. I was required as a child to learn all the different religious theologies. There are many paths to attainment of the beauty of the sacred and all must be respected
